Franco Legler

Gian Franco Legler (Ponte San Pietro, 1922 – Zurich, 2015) was an Italian‑Swiss designer and architect, recognized as a leading figure in postwar modern design. Trained in Zurich, at MIT, and in Chicago, he opened a studio in Zurich, producing innovative furniture and objects with experimental materials and refined forms. His Basket Chair remains an iconic piece of international design.
