Payments

We accept payments via bank transfer or in cash upon collection. For reservations or orders placed through our website, we kindly ask that payment be completed within 5 business days to avoid order cancellations. After this period, for unpaid orders, the customer will receive a cancellation confirmation and the item will be made available for sale again. Bank details for the transfer will be provided once the order has been finalized through our website and will also be included in the invoice sent to you by email. Thank you for your understanding and collaboration.

Shipping and delivery

We ship our items within Switzerland via Swiss Post using the Economy method, with the fragile and signature options included, ensuring that the package is not left unattended. Shipping costs range between CHF 25 and CHF 48 and include packaging materials and preparation. Delivery times are typically within 5–7 business days after payment confirmation. For in-person deliveries within Switzerland, costs depend on the distance and range between CHF 60 and CHF 250. Delivery times are 10–15 business days after payment confirmation. For multiple-item purchases, shipping is charged only once and the highest shipping cost among the purchased items is applied.

Shipping damages

In case of any damage caused by the carrier, please report the issue immediately to our customer support via email. The support email address is provided on the invoice received by the customer. If possible and visible, the damage should also be reported to the postal worker upon delivery.

Shipping abroad

For deliveries abroad, costs are calculated separately, in addition, not all items can be shipped abroad, especially for furniture and larger items, collection by the buyer is required. For deliveries outside Switzerland and the Eurozone, import duties may be charged to the customer.

Special packaging

The Modernista shop charges packaging costs for fragile items that require appropriate and specific packaging with a tailor-made box, bubble wrap, paper, sponge and filling material. The packaging costs are normally added to the selling price.

Insurance and Additional Services

All purchases shipped within Switzerland and abroad include additional services such as Signature and Fragile. All shipped items are insured up to 1,500 CHF. Higher insurance can be requested by the buyer before shipment for an additional cost of 10 CHF.

Cancelations, Returns and Refunds

We accept returns within 10 working days of delivery and only for items that do not match the images published on the Modernista third partlistings or our website. In this case, should a shipping error occur, refund of the returned object will be made within 10 working days. If the package is lost during shipping, the amount paid will be refunded in full. In case of cancellation, round-trip shipping costs as well as delivery costs will not be refunded.
