About the designer

Ross Littell (1924–2000) was an American designer known for his work in modernist furniture and textile design. After studying at Pratt Institute, he gained recognition in the 1950s for innovative designs like the T-chair (1952), now in MoMA’s collection. Littell also designed textiles for Knoll and Herman Miller, winning multiple awards.

The “Luar” (PRL 1) armchair, designed in the late 1960s and later produced by ICF Italy, reflects his expertise in minimalist, sculptural forms.
