Designer Biography

Cesare Maria Casati (Milan, 1936 – 2025) was an Italian architect, designer, critic, and curator. A pupil of Gio Ponti, he joined the Domus editorial team in the 1960s and served as its editor‑in‑chief from 1976 to 1979. He founded l’Arca Edizioni and led l’Arca International. Casati designed objects such as the Pills and Pelota lamps and organized major international exhibitions.
