Alessandro Mendini

Alessandro Mendini (Milan, 1931 – 2019) was an Italian architect, designer, and artist, one of the most influential figures in contemporary design. Active from the 1960s, he blended art, architecture, and industrial design, creating iconic furniture, lamps, and objects, including the Proust Armchair and the Groninger Museum. He collaborated with companies such as Alessi, Zanotta, and Artemide, helping to redefine Italian design with a playful, conceptual, and experimental approach.
