Designer Biography

Alessandro Becchi (Florence, 1946‑1987) was an innovative Italian designer, recognized for multifunctional and transformable furniture, including the famous Anfibio sofa. Educated at ISIA Florence, he exhibited at MoMA New York in 1972 during “Italy: The New Domestic Landscape.” He worked with Giovannetti, producing iconic Italian design pieces of the 1970s.
