Alberto Rosselli
Designer Biography
Alberto Rosselli was one of the leading Italian designers of the postwar period, known for combining architecture, technological innovation, and aesthetic research. He collaborated with Gio Ponti and Antonio Fornaroli in the Ponti-Fornaroli-Rosselli studio and helped promote industrial design through the magazine Stile Industria.
In the 1970s, he worked with Saporiti Italia, designing innovative modular seating systems. His most iconic piece is the Confidential sofa, now highly sought after in the vintage and collectible design market. Characterized by soft shapes, modularity, and experimental materials, Confidential transformed the concept of contemporary living.
Rosselli’s artistic influence stemmed from Milanese rationalism and the pop avant-garde of the 1970s, creating furniture conceived as true “habitable landscapes.”
