Oluce
Company History
Oluce is an Italian lighting design company founded in Milan in 1945 by Giuseppe Ostuni, and is described as the oldest Italian lighting design firm still in operation. From the 1950s onward, the company built its reputation through collaborations with leading architects and designers, becoming an important name in Italian design. During the 1960s and 1970s, works by Joe Colombo, Marco Zanuso and Vico Magistretti helped define its catalogue, including Spider, Coupé, Acrilica and Atollo. Atollo, awarded the Compasso d’Oro in 1979, remains one of its best-known designs. For vintage design collectors, Oluce represents a balance of technical innovation, refined production and enduring aesthetic research.
