Alessandro Becchi (1946–1987) was an Italian designer best known for the iconic Anfibio sofa (1971), a convertible sofa-bed that became a symbol of Italian radical design and is now part of MoMA’s permanent collection. Born in Florence and trained at ISIA, Becchi created soft, playful, and multifunctional furniture, often in collaboration with Giovannetti. His work, including pieces like Only You and Le Bugie, blended comfort with innovation and remains influential in design circles worldwide.
